(The third in the Sangreal trilogy)
The third book of the Sangreal trilogy, the longest and easily
the best. Nathan has to find the lost crown on a planet covered
entirely by water, while contending with a malevolent sea-goddess,
assorted marine monsters, an imminent war between merfolk
and selkies, and a topless mermaid. On the home front his
mother acquires a boyfriend he doesn’t like and Hazel
broadens her knowledge of witchcraft by using pipe-cleaners.
Once he has obtained the crown, Nathan must learn the truth
about who his father is and become involved in the Great
Spell – a desperate attempt to save a dying universe
and the last remnants of its people. But the price of salvation
may be higher than he is prepared to pay…
only just finished it so it’s hard to judge. My editor says the
ending gave her goose-bumps.
