Strawbs 1969

The Strawbs (Dave Cousins (hat, sunglasses and flourished guitar), Ron Chesterman (bass, silhouette and cuban heels) and Tony Hooper (twelve string and chest) at a summer folk festival in London in the late 1960s.

This was an outing from The White Bear Folk Club, organised by Dave in conjunction with the club's resident and host, Chas Upton (?) Now whatever happened to Chas, and did he ever get any more verses for Cosher Bailey?

This picture was assembled from two separate shots taken either side of the head that was directly in front of me.

I have recently rediscovered the Strawbs, and lots of pictures on their recent tours. These are elsewhere on the site for the moment.

Other singers will follow soon too.
